Today's moms are expected to do it all: have a full-time career, take care of the kids, maintain a healthy relationship, and keep a beautiful home. It's a lot to handle and can drain your energy before you know it. You need something to refill your cup and give you the stress relief and balance you need to juggle all those plates and prevent burnout.
How do you find time for self-care, though? With everything you're responsible for and need to do personally and at work, where do you and your needs fit in? Is it possible to find a work-life balance?
You do things that are simple but rewarding. Adopt habits of self-care that don't take a lot of time or, even better, are simple changes to things you already do. Let's look at some easy, satisfying self-care tips to help you find balance in your life.

4 Tips to Ace Your Job Interview
Before your interview, familiarize yourself thoroughly with the position. Take a careful look at the job description, qualifications, responsibilities, education & experience, and any additional requirements. You should have a solid understanding of what they’re looking for and how your experience aligns. I always recommend my Career Coaching clients print out the job description before the interview and have it nearby, so they can reference a few specific details during the interview.
In addition to understanding the role and what the company wants, there are several keys to setting yourself up for success when interviewing for a job. These 4 tips seem simple, but they’re highly effective when used correctly.

4 Tips To Nourish Your Mind and Soul
Nourishment isn’t just what you eat. Nourishment refers to all the things you consume in your daily life that provide sustenance necessary for your growth, your health, and your overall well-being. While nourishing your body with healthy, nutritious foods is important, it’s also equally important to consider how you’re nourishing your mind and your soul.

Quiet Quitting: What It Is & What To Do About It
According to a new Gallup Poll, over 50% of U.S. workers admit to “quiet quitting.” The poll indicates that the number of employees who are disengaged from their work has increased greatly since the pandemic.
Quiet quitting refers to employees who choose to stop going above and beyond in their job. It means you’re doing the bare minimum at work. You still perform the job duties required of you to stay employed, but nothing beyond that.

Why Mindset Matters When Changing Careers
If you’re in a place where you feel utterly miserable in your current job and you are desperate to leave, it’s going to be hard to land a great new job.
It’s crucial to get to a place where you feel excited about the future, satisfied with the journey you’re currently on, and overall feeling positive about where you are now. When you reach this mindset of positivity, and can say, “I’m okay where I am now, and I’m even more excited about where I’m going,” that sets you up to be emotionally, mentally, and energetically prepared for what’s next.
When you’re looking for a new job, recruiters, hiring managers, and company leaders can sense when you’re desperate to leave your current job. And frankly, it’s a total turn-off.
I incorporate mindset work into my Career Coaching Program because there are several benefits.

      Choose the Path of Adventure
Choosing the path of adventure might be scary, but it’s usually always worth it.
If you’re trying to make a decision in your life right now, and you don’t know which choice to make, I encourage you to consider choosing the path of adventure (without being reckless, of course). We as humans are biologically programmed to want to “play it safe” in life. We stick with what’s familiar, what we’re used to, what feels “safe” to us. When we start doing things differently than normal, our hormones fire off and tell our brain that we’re in danger, which creates stress. Most people like to avoid that kind of stress. As a result, so many people go through life playing small, avoiding risk-taking, and taking the easy route, even if it makes them unhappy or bored.
And then there’s the path of adventure. This is that choice that is more risky. It’s daunting. It’s unfamiliar. You don’t know the exact outcome or result you’re going to get when you go down this path. It will test your skills and capabilities, force you to adapt under pressure, and allow you to try something new and different.
So what path would you choose?

Whether you’re a woman in corporate America, a female business owner, or you’re currently going through a career change, having your own personal Board of Directors is an effective (and fun!) way to get career support and advice from people you trust.
Your personal Board of Directors should include 5-10 individuals you assemble in your mind for the purpose of developing and navigating your career. What Confidence Really Is
Confidence is having a mindset of power and control over your own life.
Being confident means ditching the victim mentality. Rather than dwelling on things that are out of your control (like your coworker’s behavior, the economy, or the weather), you take ownership of the things you can control— like how you respond to difficult situations, your daily habits and routines, and the friends you choose to spend time with.
You step up as the leader of your life.
You choose self-autonomy. You know that you are the master of your fate, the captain of your ship. Confidence is steering that ship in the direction that brings you the most joy, fulfillment, and energy.

3 Tips to Stop People Pleasing
I see you. You are helpful and kind. You work hard. You never want to be selfish. If you’re honest with yourself…. you’re a people pleaser– and deep down, you know it’s hurting you.
Do you…

The #1 Reason You Fail To Achieve Your Goals
Do you have a goal you’ve been working on for 6 months or more without success?
There are specific things you can do to set yourself up for success. I tell my Life Coaching clients that, to make achieving a goal inevitable, you need 3 things:
- Knowledge: the right information
- Support: a person or community of people to guide and help you
- Accountability: someone holding you responsible for following through
So what’s the #1 reason women fail to achieve their goals? Read the blog to find out!

How to Adopt Habits for Success
Your habits determine what happens in your day. They are indicative of what you prioritize in your life– of what truly matters to you. When you create habits of health and success, you’ll notice improved health and more success entering your life.
Atomic Habits suggests using a tool– the habit tracker– as a way to measure your habits and build consistency over time. I often use the habit tracker with the professional women I life coach when one of their goals is to improve daily habits.

4 Surprising Reasons You’re Always Exhausted
If you wake up in the morning and immediately think about how nice it’s going to be to get back in bed that night– you’re clearly exhausted.
A lack of sleep is the easiest way to explain your exhaustion. And for many professional women, that may be true. However, there’s more than just your sleep schedule to consider. Your energy is actually dependent upon many things going on in your life, and a lack of sleep isn’t the only factor. There is a bigger picture to take into consideration, and some of them might surprise you. Here are 4 surprising reasons you’re always exhausted.

How To Be a Female Powerhouse
’m finding myself in a place of frustration– frustration that there are still huge parts of society that are disempowering women… from the US media, which contains gender stereotypes and tropes that are riddled with gender bias, to the gender pay gap (Hispanic women are paid on average just 55 cents for every dollar paid to white men!)... from the man I heard make a sexist comment at a restaurant last week, to, of course, the US Supreme Court aiming to restrict women’s reproductive rights in 20 states.
Despite disempowerment, inequity, and gender bias we’re experiencing in our society, it is still possible for you to empower yourself– to lift yourself up, to seize new opportunities, to become a female powerhouse, and shatter glass ceilings. There are things we can do– daily actions, behaviors, words, and routines– that can help you embrace your inner powerhouse.
Here are my tips for how to be a female powerhouse in a society that disempowers women.

      Rest Is A Productive Activity
You had things you wanted to do this weekend— errands you wanted to run, things to take care of around the house, preparing for the week ahead— but… you didn’t get them all done. Instead, you lounged around, scrolled on social media, and binged Netflix while you ate takeout.
Now, you feel guilty. You weren’t as productive as you could’ve been and feel like you need to play “catch up” on your to-do list.
Quit beating yourself up for resting! When exhaustion, fatigue, or just plain “laziness” hits, here’s what to do instead.

3 Ways to Have More Energy at Work
It’s tough to drag yourself to work when you feel like you don’t have any energy. You probably rely on caffeine to get you through the day, struggle with the afternoon slump, end up snacking, and tend to lose focus as your energy goes up and down, up and down.
What would it be like for you to get out of bed with purpose and energy? What would you do with that extra energy?
Maybe you could finally get that promotion you’ve been hoping for. Maybe you would use it to focus on your health, getting back into shape so you can feel good in your body. Or maybe you would be able to feel more connected and engaged with your family after work.
Here are 3 ways to have more energy at work.

Book Review— Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience
Flow is a classic book in the world of psychology, and for a good reason. It was written in 1990 by one of the founding fathers of Positive Psychology, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, after decades of research. The goal of Csikszentmihalyi’s research was to discover what creates an “optimal experience” for people. In other words, when are we MOST happy? When do we thrive as humans?
It’s not what you’d expect! Csikszentmihalyi found that people are NOT most happy when they are on vacation, sipping a cocktail on a beach, or just relaxing at home. Quite the opposite, actually!
Csikszentmihalyi states, “The best moments usually occur when a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile.”
